Enhanced Ribbon Cutting -Youth Rising-Up Initiative
Join the Broomfield Area Chamber and Youth Rising-Up Initiative as we celebrate with an Enhanced Ribbon Cutting Ceremony! Thank you to DJ Jay money and Bouquet Boutique for the music and flowers! **** Ribbon Will Be Cut at 5:00PM **** About them: Youth Rising-Up Initiative (YRUI) is a Boulder-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to prevent human trafficking and exploitation of youth ages 10-18. We use a trauma-informed, creative arts-based approach to address the personal risk factors that make young people vulnerable to traffickers, reaching them before harm happens. We don't operate out of a single physical facility. Instead, we bring our programming directly to schools and communities throughout the region, including a growing presence in Broomfield. YRUI was founded and is led by Mitch Peritz, MSW, LSW, who brings a background in youth facilitation, restorative justice, and social work. Mitch serves as Executive Director, supported by a four-member Board of Directors. YRUI was incorporated on July 17, 2024, and launched programming in 2025. We are a human services and prevention organization, not an arts or education organization. Our core program, Say Y.E.S. (Youth Empowerment Strategies), is an eleven-workshop curriculum built around life skills such as critical thinking, self-reflection, and decision-making.
