Jules Gourmet Catering is looking for Enthusiastic, Reliable, Detail-Oriented individuals to join our team!

The Sous Chef is responsible for assisting the Chef with food preparation, presentation of food, supervising kitchen staff, controlling food and labor cost, managing inventory, creating recipes and maintaining kitchen cleanliness.

Principal Duties/ Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Ability to assist the Chef with execute and manage food preparation for corporate and social events ranging from small tastings and events up to 500 guests. Both plated and buffet style.
  • Ability to cook in both classic and new age styles. Keeping up with the most cutting edge techniques, recipes, products, etc.
  • Will need to help management team oversee a BOH staff and controlling labor cost is a must.
  • Assist the Chef with ordering, food presentation and managing inventory.
  • Help to manage cooks to maintain a cleaning schedule and routine to help keep kitchen cleanliness above what’s required by the board of health.
  • Assisting with recipe documentation, menu creation, menu pricing, portioning and following up with cooks to make sure they are following through per specs.
  • Ability to be a team player and motivate staff to help reach their maximum potential.     
  • Basic computer knowledge a must. 
  • Full time, Flex schedule, days, evening and weekend availability.
Job Requirements
  • Lift and transport up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently reach, lift, stoop, bend and clean to maintain service area.
  • Walk and stand during entire shift.
  • Supervise serving staff to ensure optimal job performance
  • Possible job hazards include, but are not limited to: slips, falls, burns, cuts and strains.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with event supervisor, guests and staff members by speaking and comprehending English

  • ServSafe certification desirable
